Mars in Sagittarius from October 6 to November 16, 2012

Mars is the planet of action, and Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, (higher) education, philosophy, and travel. Sagittarius governs the hips, thighs, and sacral area.

Depending on where Sagittarius falls in your chart, that is where the action will be stimulated during this transit.

Mars naturally rules Aries (impulsive action) and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter (luck and expansion) – and both are fire signs. It will be a time of impulsive behaviour in part, and luck may be linked to positive outcomes. Where people will have to be careful is that impulsive action Mars/Aries and accident-prone Sagittarius (a lot of tripping from going too fast) will make some prone to falls and injuries to the hip or thigh area during this time. If Mars should happen to be going through your 4th house of home – this could take place in the home. If in the 3rd house of short trips, it could happen while you’re out shopping or visiting neighbours; if going through your 9th house, it could be while you’re away; so be careful! Otherwise, it should be a fun time for socializing and lots of laughs!

During this transit as well, you may be prone to vocalizing your moral views or your faith (religious or otherwise) as Sagittarius is linked to both morality and religion. You may also be prone to putting your foot in your mouth, as Sagittarius does that a lot, probably because of exuberance and excitement, and Mars doesn’t stop to think before it acts – usually.

Mars wants to go, go, go and Sagittarius just wants to go somewhere – anywhere. Sagittarius is the wanderlust sign of the zodiac – they are always up to trying something new, going someplace new, having a new adventure, meeting new people – they are usually the first at the party and the last to leave because they hate missing out.

So, wherever, Mars happens to fall in your chart, that is where you will notice this trend. I happen to have Mars in Sagittarius and so it is possible that I may not feel this trend as intensely as others who don’t, and it is taking place in the part of my chart that I’m used to having this kind of activity. Those of you that have Mars in a more gentle sign such as Libra, Pisces, or Cancer, may feel this trend quite powerfully and may not feel comfortable with it. On the other hand, if you are someone who is slow to move, this may well do you some good as it will spark action where you may have to move, or have wanted to move, at this time.

Remember that whichever house it is transiting through – it will affect the opposite house as well.

For example:
At 0 degrees, I was actually going about looking at homes. But, I have so many other things happening at the same time, and because of a not-so-wonderful Grand Square, I was forced to and had to put that activity on hold. Something was a little off. My opposite house is career and I have a lot going on there too – in terms of amount and load of work. When it rains, it pours. And with Saturn entering my 3rd house – the house of communication (verbal/written), small trips, daily work, education, and intelligence – it is telling me to do things in the correct order that they need to be done. So I need to slow down, read the fine print, communicate clearly what I want, go deeper and gather information, etc.

So, what I’m trying to say is if the house that Mars is traveling through is the 1st house of Self, then the opposite house of relationships will be affected as well. If it is traveling through the 2nd house of Personal values, then the opposite house of other people’s money, joint ventures, beginnings and endings is affected as well. And, so on… This is mostly the case of all planetary transits.

If you notice this sort of trend in your life, please share it with us! And, if you happen to be able to add to this information, please do not hesitate to do so…

Have a great month of Mars in Sagittarius and take advantage of it – all the while being careful not to overstep and hurt yourself!
