My Creativity Stone and Other Rituals

I was given a Creativity stone a couple of weekends ago from a woman who owns a little store in Kingston, Ontario. It is deep blue and has some white veins, and is shaped like a little monolith. I can’t remember what type of stone she told me it was other than a “creativity” stone.

I searched online and found a photo of a stone that comes the closest to resembling what I have.

Sodalite is a stone that is: deep blue with white streaks and flecks. Encourages rational thinking, logic, intelligence, emotional balance, intuition, higher knowledge, clarity, truth, and perception. Fosters knowledge, learning proficiency, consciousness, communication and wisdom, This stone helps us unite the logical with the spiritual.

Sodalite is the stone of athletics, as it stimulates endurance. It is said sodalite will harmonize the inner being or the conscious and subconscious mind. Sodalite promotes peace and harmony. Sodalite is extra lucky for writers.

Sodalite is associated with the thyroid. It is perfect in a necklace. It helps in communicating and will give confidence to speak more.

Keeping this little gemstone next to me while writing will remind me to be a little creative each day, even if it’s just for a few moments.

I have not yet found any particular ritual to beginning my writing, other than I have noticed that ideas begin popping in my head while I’m driving. When I reach a red light and have a few minutes, I type them immediately into my “notes” on my phone.

I wonder if anyone else has a ritual or stone that helps and
gives a spark to his or her creativity?
